Place: Lake Tawakoni – Near Wills Point, Texas
Location – Texas State Park
Distance for DFW – 50 Miles.
Key Points – I like their padded sites and how clean the park is maintained. There is good fishing – I hear this is a catfish lake but sure there are other species of fish. It appears to be quiet and a family place. The sites have two areas with full or partial hook up less sewage dump connections. There are approx. 78 sites. Several hiking trails located in the park. The TV signal is poor. More of the folks are relaxed swimming at the beach, having a picnic or hiking the short-groomed trails. There is also a flea market to visit near Quinlan, Texas. Just an as a note…last time camping in a tent at this park, ended up with poison ivy.
Why I liked it – Quest shaded and a smaller park. Best site is number 8. Close to bathroom/shower and away for the crowd.
Feel Good – Close to DFW and a newer look for Texas State Park locations.
Peace be with you!
