Camping at Tyler State Park is one of my favorite spots. What made better was attending the Piney Woods Christmas Event December 8th to the 11Th. We had an RV site in the Big Pines area of the park and decorated our campsite will lights and three snowmen. It was a good start for the second year we attended the park event. The Costco Snowmen were a hit since many visitors wanted to have their photo taken in from of the camper.
The hit of the weekend was having dinner Friday night with Dad and Daughter Bass Family. Austin, myself and Chewy cooked steaks, potatoes, a salad, and a special treat – peach cobbler. Mr. Bass brought the ice cream to top off the delicious treat. We did have a few scoops left over from the cobbler, so we shared them with a few of our camping neighbors.
Between the two nights and heavy rain Saturday night the park collected a large container of canned foods for the Tyler Food Shelter. I believe we had over 80 plus cars driven by.
Fun times and look forward to supporting the event in the years ahead.
