One of my favorite Texas State Parks is in Tyler, Texas. Tyler State Park is one of the hidden gems of the State Parks in Texas. I have visited this park several times over the last 40 plus years and always humbled of the beauty of East Texas.
Chewy, my son’s dachshund and myself left Dallas on Thursday to Tyler to set up camp. Always easy to be in The Big Pine area since only RV campers are allowed. Our site was BP332. After setup we just sat in my lawn chair and vegged out looking at the trees, the wildlife and sky. Chewy loves the outdoors and always like to have his own chair but sometimes ends up in my lap…
Friday was about the same except for a few customer calls and emails to pass the time. The highlight was putting Chewy in his new wheels and seeing how well he moved around.
Austin arrives Saturday morning for breakfast and spend time catching up on his business. I am very proud of him and how much he has learned. Great dinner on Saturday night including steaks, chicken, Brussel sprouts and peppers plus finishing off with a Dutch Oven peach cobbler. I shared the remaining cobbler with our camp neighbors… it was a hit.
Packed up on Sunday AM and head back to Dallas. Great trip and time with my buddies.
On the way home I noticed a billboard on the side of the road…
The ABC’s of Salvation– Thank you Pastor JD Farag.
